The wood model was an undergraduate studio 3 project where I designed an art gallery for a single artist. For this project my design intent was to create an ethereal gallery experience, the highpoint of which was a very open main gallery with abundant natural light that the floor plan and structure guide you to.
The plaster model was an undergraduate studio 2 project where I designed a massing model of a home inset into a hill. The juxtaposition of massing with precision reveals creates a floating effect for the top half of the model. Creating the uneasy and curiosity of why and how the upper mass is floating above the lower half was my intent.
